There are many companies that offer Android TV boxes. Some of these devices are very powerful and expensive, while others are very cheap. One very popular TV box that gets good ratings online is the MINIX NEO U22-XJ Android TV box. I will review it, tell you about the pros and cons of this device, and recommend some alternatives to check out.

When choosing an Android TV box, it’s very important to make sure its hardware is powerful enough. Otherwise, your device will have lags and be slow. And that’s definitely not something you want. MINIX NEO U22-XJ is a fairly powerful Android TV box. It is powered by Amlogic S922X-J Quad Core Cortex A73 and Dual Core Cortex A53 Processor. It’s a 64-bit proccessor. It provides speed, and indeed this device is very fast and powerful. You can run any app or game you can think of – without lags. Of course don’t expect this to be a super 3D gaming machine. But for most uses – it’s perfect.

MINIX NEO U22-XJ features 4GB of RAM (DDR4 type) which is a lot. This allows you to open multiple apps at once, and overall the device won’t suffer from lags and bugs. I don’t recommend buying a TV box with less than 4GB of RAM.

This TV box runs the Android 9.0 operating system. It’s a fast and stable operating system that supports most Android apps. I do want to mention that there are other devices like this Android TV box (Amazon link) that run Android 10.0 – which in my opinion, is better.

Android has millions of apps and games, and most of them are offered for completely free. I recommend buying TV boxes that run Android and not some generic operating system (like many Smart TVs these days do). Do keep in mind that the MINIX NEO U22-XJ Android TV box does not support Netflix in 4K UHD or Full HD (1080P). It also does not support Amazon prime in 4K or 1080P. So that’s something to take into consideration.

The MINIX NEO U22-XJ Android TV box has 32GB of internal memory. You can expand it using a MicroSD card. These cards nowadays are inexpensive. I recommend buying a 32GB MicroSD card from a company like Sandisk or Kingston. They are known for making very reliable and long lasting memory cards.

I do want to mention that in my opinion, it’s a con that this device only comes with 32GB of internal memory. Many devices on the market now offer 64GB.

I hope you found this MINIX NEO U22-XJ review helpful. If you have any questions about MINIX NEO U22-XJ or Android TV boxes, feel free to comment below. On our website you can find many other TV box reviews.
